Century Skye Apartments

We were asked by the developers to design an apartment block complex on this site, which is within walking distance of the Centurion Gautrain station and less that 3 km from Centurion mall. The development consists of three blocks of five storeys each and parking on the ground floor.

To optimize the layout on the site, each block was designed with north and south facing apartments and a central covered corridor. Roof lights allow natural light into the corridors. The layout of each block is unique and consists of combinations of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Mild steel screens protect the corridor and staircases from northern and western sun, while all windows have low-e double glazing. A combination of face brick and plaster and paint were used in the design to minimize maintenance.
