The building could not be orientated true north because of the size of the building and site restrictions.  The main entrance is on the east of the building to be visible from Witkoppen road. This created a design challenge to restrict the direct sunlight ingress. All outside walls are cavity clay face brick with insulation material. Windows in the external walls are kept to a bare minimum.

Roof skylights with translucent sheeting are introduced to provide natural light into the showroom and warehouse areas.  The insulation in the cavity walls and roof structure ensures a pleasant indoor environment and low energy use of the heating and cooling systems.
