THE PROJECT: HOUSE VAN DER MERWE KITCHEN
We were approached by a client to renovate her 1980’s closed-off townhouse kitchen. The brief was to design an open plan, Scandinavian style kitchen, to suit the rest of the main floor’s light oak and white design scheme.
White and light oak cupboards and shelves form the basis of the kitchen. Yellow copper accents in the form of strips on the cupboards, rails above the stove and sink, taps and light fittings were used to add warmth to the space.
The timber flooring in the living and dining areas are new, so we suggested tiles for the new kitchen, to avoid the problem of trying to match the timber. A bulkhead was added above the kitchen to further define the space.
