Ons vir wie hierdie pragtige en funksionele doeltreffende
gebou ons werktuiste is, geniet elke dag die vrug
van u arbeid. Dit is nou maar eenmaal so dat ‘n
werksomgewing ‘n groot bydra maak tot werksbevrediging.
Die gebou en alles wat dit bide skep juis ‘n
omgewing wat bevorderlik is vir werkbevredeging.
U en u span verdien lof vir die inklusiewe wyse
waarop u u skeppingsrol vervoer het. Ons het altyd
deel van die proses gevoel omdat ons volledige
inspraak tot ontplooiing daarvan gehad het. Vir
almal van on swat daaraan deelgeneem het was dit
nie alleen aangenaam nie maar ook uiters inspirerend
om saam met u te verseker dat die “waarde
vir geld” beginsel gedien word. Daarom kan
ons met trots die gebou aan ons kliente en ander
belanghebbendes ten toon stel sodat hulle ook
daarop trots kan wees. Wees verseker dat ‘n
stroom van gunstige kommentaar onophoudelik invloei.
U en u span kan dus met reg trots wees op hierdie
gebou wat beslis besondere waarde toevoeg to hierdie
omgewing.
Mag hierdie uiters suksesvolle projek die weg
baan tot nog baie meer uitdagings en suksesverhale.

Dear Wim.
Simulator building (Block A)
The design is functional and provides the maximum
protection to the simulator should any of the
auxiliary equipment explode (transformers, pumps
and airconditioning equipment. The soundproofing
in the building was a challenge, but due to excellent
design, the dB rate in the building was effectively
dropped to international acceptable levels.
From a visual point of view, I am of the opinion
that Comair has achieved its goal to provide a
visually attractive building that is also a discussion
point amongst other airlines at Johannesburg International
Airport. We have received complaints about rubbernecking
and near accidents on the R21 highway, which is
adjacent to the building. The marketing department
at Comair is enjoying the free advertising that
the building is creating.
Operations building (Block D2)
The design was a radical departure from the previously
conservative approach followed by Comair towards
buildings. The clustering of logical units together
in general offices was a new concept, together
with the glass partitioning. Although this was
met with some resistance from employees initially,
they were pleasantly surprised once they moved
in.
The soundproofing that is provided by the glass
is superb and provides the privacy they need.
We received permission from the Civil Aciation
Authority to continue our training provided in
the building without any qualification. There
have been complaints about people that now feel
they have to work the full 8 ½ hours a
day instead of playing games on their computers.
One person summed it up as follows:” I have
sacrificed being hideen away in a office, but
I have gained in that employees now feel I am
more approachable and open in my approach to management
of the department”
The whole development reached its goal and actually
surpassed al expectations of Comair. Wel done!
